About Our Lab
Wastewater treatment plants consume energy to remove pollutants and the potential energy derived from sludge in various forms is not enough for energy self-sufficiency. The paradigm of wastewater treatment is shifting towards the energy-neutral status of net-zero production of carbon dioxide. To achieve the energy-neutral wastewater treatment (ENWT), research interests are oriented on four subjects; carbon redirection, novel nitrogen removal, biogas production and artificial intelligence. ENWT provides the important function of producing energy and water to an industrial megacity.
Our Vision
Advancing sustainable urban environments through bioengineering innovation, intelligent wastewater solutions, and green energy technologies.
